Storefront Release Notes for 2026.3

We’re excited to share the latest Storefront updates! This release makes it easier to customize and test customer communications, gives sales teams more flexibility when managing quotes and orders, and introduces greater control over product purchasing, inventory, and reviews. We’ve also continued modernizing the Admin experience to make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive.

Alongside these enhancements, we’ve delivered improvements across security, search, tax, payments, and key integrations to help keep your storefront running smoothly.

Preview & Test Email Templates

Customizing transactional emails is now easier and more reliable. You can preview email templates directly in Admin and send test emails before making changes live for your customers.

Preview templates before sending:
See how an email will render, including merge fields and dynamic content, without placing a test order or triggering the associated event.
Send test emails:
Send test messages to any email address to verify formatting, images, links, and the overall experience in a real inbox or mobile client.
Iterate with confidence:
Preview and retest templates as you make changes, making it easier to validate customizations before they reach customers.

B2B Portal Enhancements

We’ve introduced new capabilities to improve collaboration and automate important employee communications in the B2B portal.

Share wish lists with managers:
Employees can share their wish lists with managers, making it easier to collaborate on product selections.
Automatic reward point notifications:
Employees now receive email notifications when reward points are added to their accounts.
Store pickup location notifications:
Automatic email notifications are sent when an employee’s assigned store pickup location changes, helping keep them informed of important updates.

Improved Account Security

We’ve strengthened account security to help protect customer accounts when sensitive information changes.

Automatic session invalidation:
Customer sessions are invalidated when a customer changes their email address or password, helping prevent continued access through existing sessions.

More Flexibility for Quotes, Payment Links & Orders

We’ve added several improvements to give sales and operations teams greater control over quotes, payment links, and order management from the back office.

Admin-only shipping methods:
Apply internal shipping methods to quotes and payment links without making those methods available to storefront customers.
Quote unavailable inventory:
Create quotes for products that are out of stock or have insufficient available inventory, giving sales teams more flexibility when preparing negotiated deals.
Accurate shipping discounts after order edits:
Shipping discounts are now recalculated when an order is edited in Admin, helping ensure totals remain accurate after changes to items or addresses.
Flexible pricing when cloning:
Choose whether to preserve the original pricing or use current pricing when cloning an order or quote. This makes it easier to honor existing agreements or refresh pricing for new opportunities.

Merchandising & Product Management

New options give merchants more control over purchasing rules and product reviews.

Variant-level quantity limits:
Configure minimum and maximum purchase quantities at the variant inventory level, allowing more precise purchasing rules for individual variants.
Verified purchase reviews:
Use the new Verified Purchase Only setting to restrict product reviews to customers who have purchased the product.

A Faster, More Focused Admin

We’re continuing to modernize the Admin experience by moving more pages to our new modern framework. These updates help create a faster, more consistent experience for everyday store management.

Faster page loads:
Enjoy improved loading performance across migrated Admin pages.
More responsive lists and filtering:
Work with lists and filters more smoothly.
Consistent inline validation:
Get clearer, more consistent feedback when entering or editing information.
Improved editing experience:
Benefit from a cleaner, more consistent interface across updated pages.

More Admin Improvements

We’ve also introduced several enhancements to simplify navigation, improve customer lookup, and make multi-store management more intuitive.

New store switcher:
Switch between stores directly from the dashboard for easier multi-store navigation.
Simplified Admin login:
A streamlined login page makes accessing Admin easier.
Improved customer search:
Find customers faster with more relevant matching across names, email addresses, and company information.

Tax, Payments & Integrations

This release includes several updates to improve tax handling, payment accuracy, and data synchronization across third-party integrations.

TaxCloud integration:
Added a new REST API integration and tax state list, helping reduce unnecessary API calls.
Tax refund processing:
Refunds now trigger the appropriate tax refund through Avalara and TaxCloud, helping keep tax calculations and reconciliation in sync.
Klaviyo product pricing:
Product price data is now kept up to date in Klaviyo for more accurate product information.
Fishbowl synchronization:
Improved inventory and order synchronization for more reliable integration workflows.
Afterpay fee handling:
Fixed an issue that prevented additional fees from being handled correctly.
Google Analytics identity field:
Added a new option for configuring the identity field.

Performance & Fixes

We’ve delivered additional improvements to make storefront operations faster, search results more accurate, and API workflows more reliable.

Faster product search:
Improved search response times, particularly for stores with large product catalogs.
More accurate price sorting:
Search results now sort by actual selling price rather than retail price, helping customers find products based on the price they pay.
Fixed child item ranking:
Resolved an issue affecting the ranking of child items in search results.
Improved API date field handling:
Fixed an issue that prevented date fields from being cleared through the API.
