Customer lost a package. Insurance payout was a pain in the hind end. Why? Package was stolen from the fellow's mailbox. Since USPS says it's delivered, battle royal ensured. Worst part, we looked bad for not making the option available.
Since USPS makes available check box option like insurance and signature confirmation, it would be nice to shift the burden of responsibility (and the expense for same) to the customer. Then, in the event things go sideways, we point to the option to request signature confirmation and/or insurance. Now it becomes their problem, not mine.
Americommerce customer - that would be me - doesn't look the fool.
Note; Shipworks blame Americommerce for not generating the data. Say other carts they're compatible with do this. Hope this makes sense to you.
